PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of an optical fiber in which mechanical strength, heat resistance or the like of the fiber are remarkably improved, a problem is not brought about even under extremely severe conditions, and an optical loss can be set to zero even when the fiber is bent to about 80 mmϕor less as needed. SOLUTION: The optical fiber comprises a means for passing the optical fiber through an optical fiber strand, an optical fiber core wire or a metal tube having a hole opened in an accurate dimensional accuracy slightly larger than the diameter size of the optical fiber core wire to hold the fiber in the area required for the heat resistance and the like, and a means further having a temperature regulating function such as cooling or heating as needed.
