<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas treatment system for an incinerator with a sludge drying function, having high sludge drying capability, avoiding the production of dioxine and requiring lower running cost by reducing burden on a gas cooler. <P>SOLUTION: Part of high temperature exhaust gas to be delivered from a secondary combustion furnace 2 arranged at the rear stage of the incinerator 1 to the gas cooler is guided into a sludge drying installation 4 such as a rotary kiln where water contained sludge is dried. The exhaust gas decreasing in temperature after passing through the sludge drying installation 4 is mixed with high temperature exhaust gas from the secondary combustion furnace 2 at the front stage of the gas cooler 3 and then it is quenched by the gas cooler 3. No energy is required for the sludge drying installation 4 and the high temperature of the exhaust gas from the secondary combustion furnace 2 is decreased with the mixture with the exhaust gas decreased in temperature, thereby reducing burden on the gas cooler 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
