<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize an image of a specific pattern with higher decision precision. <P>SOLUTION: In order to detect a pattern of a specific color in a specific shape, processing is carried out in two stages. An input image is binarized according to whether the color is within a specific color range and the similarity of the obtained binarized image to the pattern is decided.
