PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower the cost of equipment by simplifying a structure and control of an automatic machine for supplying segments. SOLUTION: Plural segments 1, 1, etc., are positioned on a same periphery, and the adjacent segments 1, 1 are joined to each other in sequence by joints 2 to construct a first segment ring 11. The plural segments 1, 1 are joined to an axial end surface of the first segment ring 11 in sequence by joints 12. The joints 12 are movable in a peripheral direction in such a state that a newly positioned segment 1 is located relative to an already positioned segment 1 in a radial direction. The newly placed segment 1 is moved in the peripheral direction and joined to the already positioned segment 1, which is adjacent thereto in the peripheral direction by the joints 2, so as to construct a second segment ring on the periphery. By constructing such segment rings as above repeatedly, a wall is constructed on an inner surface of a tunnel using plural segments 1, 1, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
