PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature compensated crystal oscillator which can make its container compact. SOLUTION: In the temperature compensated crystal oscillator, a crystal resonator 2 is mounted on the upper side of a container 1, and a cavity 10 for accommodating an IC chip 3 and chip-shaped electronic components 4 and 5, connected to the crystal resonator 2 as well as external terminal electrodes are formed on the lower surface of the container 1, the cavity 10 is made into a cruciform having a center part and four extension parts extending from the center part, external terminal electrodes 11 to 14 are positioned at four corners of the lower surface of the container defined by the cruciform cavity 10, and corner parts formed between the adjacent extension parts of the cavity 10 and corner parts of the external terminal electrodes 12 to 14 facing the extension corner parts are both rounded.
