PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a low-voltage operation and an accurate drive current of a drive circuit for a semiconductor laser to be compatible and to reduce an overshoot. SOLUTION: The drive circuit for the semiconductor laser comprises an operational amplifier OP for detecting a difference of drain voltages between N-channel MOS transistors Tr1 and Tr2, buffer circuits BF1, BF2 for inputting this different voltage as control voltages of N-channel MOS transistors Tr3, Tr4 to gates of the transistors Tr3, Tr4, and an overlap signal generator 3 for overlapping high-level periods of a complementary signal for driving the circuits BF1, BF2.
