PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hetero-phase copolymer latex to be used in a magnetic binder which is well balanced in water resistance, blocking resistance, and break resistance, and to provide a hetero-phase copolymer latex composition including the above latex. SOLUTION: Emulsified and copolymerized monomer has a glass transition temperature (Tg) between 0 to 50°C, and makes up a copolymer (B) having a Tg higher than the latex (A) in the latex (A) whose glass transition temperature (Tg) is -70 to 10°C. A hetero-phase copolymer latex is provided for a magnetic binder whose toluene insoluble ratio is 90 wt.%, and a hetero-phase copolymer latex composition which includes this latex.
