<p>Cutting or scarfing torch.. M7-. Providing an axial oxygen flame has a ring of heating flame around this jet and a jet of combustible powder, generally iron powder, around this ring. The passages through which the powder leaves the blowpipe are highly inclined to the axis so that they converge in the neighbourhood of a point on the axis of the blowpipe not far from its tip. The converging point for the jet of powder may be situated between the surface by which the ring of flame leaves the blowpipe and the surface by which the ring of flame leaves the blowpipe and the surface to be scarfed.</p> |
