<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of a dragging due to an imperfect return of a brake shoe upon releasing a brake in a drum brake device having a shoe driving cam capable of controlling a braking force in accordance with the force of the brake. <P>SOLUTION: The drum brake device has the shoe driving cam for mechanically controlling the braking force in accordance with the force of the brake acting on an anchor pin from the brake shoe. A cam pin provided on a cam plate and pressing the brake shoe in accordance with rotation of the cam plate freely rotates on the cam plate.
