<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointer lighting structure which promotes its size reduction and simplification by minimizing leakage of light onto a dial plate, dispensing with a light guide member and lowering the loss of light guide. <P>SOLUTION: Each light from lighting elements 8a, 8b arranged so as to be at positions more outside than the hole 31 for a pointer rotating shaft in the rear of the dial plate 3, is received by a light receiving portion 41b formed on the external side surface of a pointer's extended portion. This light is reflected in the direction of a pointer indicating portion 41d from the reflection surface of the extended portion formed so as to face the receiving portion 41b. This reflected light is reflected again in the tip direction of the indicating portion 41d, by corner reflecting surfaces 41e formed at the base end corners of the indicating portion 41d.
