PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscopic image photographing device for performing quick automatic record preservation in which quick preparation of a wide visual field image of a slide glass, and the wide visual field image, sample information and a microscopic image are associated. SOLUTION: While a slide glass transport unit 17 transports a slide glass 10 in a slide glass storing unit 16 below an objective lens 11 of a stage 9, a dot matrix code reader 63 reads sample slide information on the side of the slide glass 10, and a linear image sensor unit 60 takes the image of the wide visual field image of the slide glass 10. A sample position on the slide glass 10 is recognized based on the wide visual field image, and a photographing position is determined. The microscopic image of a desired part of a sample is photographed by various devices on a path shown by a dotted line from a light source 2 to a camera unit 14, and is stored in a large capacity recording medium by associating it with the sample slide information.
