PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device of an engine capable of improving serviceability on exchanging cooling medium in the cooling device equipped with a flow control valve for controlling circulating quantity of the cooling medium between a radiator and the engine. SOLUTION: Cooling water, flowing into an outlet passage 4 from an engine 2, flows out into a cooling passage 30. The cooling passage 30 is provided with the radiator 32. Cooling water cooled via the radiator 32 is controlled with the flow control valve 40 for the flow rate, and supplied in an inlet passage 50. Cooling water supplied into the inlet passage 50 is supplied into the engine 2 via a water pump 52. When cooling water temperature THW is not less than a predetermined value during stopping of the engine 2, the flow control valve 40 is controlled for closing the valve. Thereafter, when a change of cooling water is detected with a drain cock sensor 80, the flow control valve 40 is controlled for opening the valve. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
