摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix liquid crystal cell making a gap between substrates in a pixel part small and further making the gap between the substrates in a plurality of the pixel parts uniform.

SOLUTION: A plurality of TFTs (thin film transistors) 24 disposed on a first substrate 21 are formed so as to have height corresponding to a predetermined gap d1between the substrates in the pixel parts. The first and second substrates 21, 22 are joined to each other via the frame shaped sealant 41 while bringing a plurality of the TFTs 24 into contact with a counter electrode 36 on the second substrate 22.
