<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image collating device for speedily and accurately confirming a print result. <P>SOLUTION: A client PC 302 sends reference image data to the image collating device 300. A print server 304, on the other hand, sends an image forming instruction to an image forming device 306 to print an image on a printing medium according to the reference image data. The image forming device 306 reads the printed image and sends check image data to the image collating device 300. A control part 10 generates projection waveforms of a reference image represented by the reference image data and a check image represented by the inspection image data, extracts feature quantities from the projection waveforms, and compares the feature quantities with each other to detect the scaling correction quantity and parallel movement quantity between the reference image and check image. According to them, the positions of corresponding pixels of the reference image and check image are found and an image obtained by similarity conversion is collated through pattern matching processing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
