<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and exactly detect developer amount in constitution where a developing roller is disposed so that it can move to contact with/ separate from a photoreceptor drum. <P>SOLUTION: The developing roller 10 feeding developer supplied from a developer storage container 14 to the photoreceptor drum 7, a developing blade 11 regulating a developer layer adhering to the surface of the roller 10, and an electrode 31 arranged to be opposed to the roller 10 are disposed in a moving frame body 12 so that their relative positions may be always the same. The frame body 12 can move in a developing frame body 13 coupled with the container 14 and is arranged to be energized by a spring so as to press the roller 10 capable of moving to contact with/separate from the drum 7. By measuring electrostatic capacity between the roller 10 and the electrode 31 generated in the case of applying developing bias voltage to the roller 10 by a developer amount detection part 42, the developer amount in a space between the roller 10 and the electrode 31 which is always fixed is detected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
