<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication system which enables a consumer to easily confirm whether a prepaid card is genuine through a network. <P>SOLUTION: A user who intends to buy a prepaid card circulating on the market views an authentication ID printed on the prepaid card, accesses an authentication site by a portable telephone with a browser function that the user owns, and inputs and sends the viewed authentication ID through a browser screen.
