PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a getting-on/off monitor device which monitors an area nearby a door and its box of a vehicle to prevent an accident and to provide an in-area monitor device which can detect a crime being committed in an area or a person who is suddenly taken ill falling down and give notice to an outer side. SOLUTION: A picture of the area nearby the door which is picked up by a sensor part (1) 1<SB>1</SB>composed of an ITV camera is processed by a data processing part 2 to detect movement of a person nearby the door. A decision part 3 decides that a person crosses the door (getting-on/off area) in the timing to the closure of the door from the timing of closure of the door based upon the movement of the person nearby the door and data obtained from a sensor part (2) 1<SB>2</SB>and a control part 4 outputs an alarm, etc. Consequently, the danger that the person is caught by the door is predicted to prevent an accident.
