PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium which can eliminate variance in sound volume in reproduction as a recording medium where audio data are recorded. SOLUTION: On the recording medium, audio data and an automatic sound volume adjustment element (AVCF) corresponding to the audio data are recorded. The automatic sound volume adjustment element (AVCF) is used to eliminate variance in sound volume by adjusting the reproduction sound volume of the audio data. Further, the automatic sound volume adjustment element (AVCF) can be stored on the recording medium by being stored in an area, such as a CD-TEXT storage area, other than an audio data area, stored in the header or footer of the audio data, or embedded in a portion of the audio data.
