PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear measuring machine that can suppress cost increases even which the machine measures many kinds of work gears having different dimensions. SOLUTION: This gear measuring machine has a laser length-measuring machine 22, a supporting base section 21 which rotatably supports a work gear W, and an arithmetic section 24 which causes the laser length-measuring machine 22 to detect the work gear W while the gear W is rotated by means of the supporting base section 21 and computes the tooth thickness of the gear W from the rotational data of the base section 21 and the detected data of the machine 22.
