<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the reliability of an auction system that utilizes both a real store and a communication means without impairing the convenience of an auction system over a communication network. <P>SOLUTION: The auction management system 100, upon receiving a request for registration from a person desiring to join an auction, attaches information, to be acquired by a credit card reader 150 on the card the person is to use for electronic payment, to the terminal information included in the request for registration, and registers and stores the request in a terminal information conservation file F2. The system 100, upon receiving a bid from an auction participant's information terminal, decides if terminal information on the originator of the bid is in the terminal information on qualified auction participants conserved in the file F2 and, if present, accepts the bid as a bid in the auction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
