<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording yarn obtained from a new slitted film for magnetic recording, capable of increasing the density of magnetic particles in a magnetic layer and producing economically, limberly and surely magnetic recording on a strap or a fabric, and to provide a product using the magnetic recording yarn. <P>SOLUTION: The magnetic recording yarn has a spirally curled section and about 360 dtex fineness and is obtained by using a biaxially oriented polyethylene terephtharate having 12 μm thickness as the base film, coating a magnetic paint composed mainly of Co-γ-Fe<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>and a polyester-based polyurethane with a gravure coater on the base film, performing magnetic ordering treatment, then, drying to obtain a magnetic layer having 3 μm thickness, slitting the obtained coated film to have 1 mm width, winding up on a bobbin, imparting 500 turn/m twist thereto with a twister and treating with heat-setting treatment at 200°C for 2 s. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
