PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency lighting device and an emergency luminaire allowing the use of a dedicated two-wire emergency lighting circuit for easy renewal. SOLUTION: The emergency lighting device comprises input power switching means 15 for switching power to be supplied from a DC power input terminal 11 with the input of a failure monitoring part 14 and the two-wire emergency lighting circuit 2 connected to the input power switching means 15 for allowing the lighting of a discharge lamp 4 with electric power supplied from an AC power supply 31 or a DC power supply 32. The inexpensive two-wire emergency lighting circuit 2 is usable and easily applicable to making renewal independently of any form of wirings from a power supply part. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
