PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pre-heater for resin molding equipment from which the abnormal contact between a latch plate and a lead frame can be detected accurately, and to provide a method of detecting the abnormal contact of the lead frame of the pre-heater by which the abnormal contact can be detected. SOLUTION: The pre-heater for resin molding equipment is provided, with the lead frame 4 on a preheating table 7 pushed out from a magazine rack 5 by means of a pusher 3 and an abnormal contact detecting means 12, which detects the abnormal contact between the lead frame 4 and the metal latch plate 9 which stops the plate 9 by measuring the electrical resistance between the lead frame 4 and plate 9 by supplying electricity between the frame 4 and plate 9. Consequently, even when abnormal contact, such as position deviation, inclination, etc., occurs between the lead frame 4 and latch plate 9, the abnormal contact can be detected accurately.
