<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkali developer which suppresses production of development scum in a plate making process, prevents adhesion of development scum to a plate and precipitation or deposition of the scum in a developing bath, achieves long-term stable development, ensures a wide development latitude and enables acquisition of a highly sharp and clear image and to provide a method for making a planographic printing plate. <P>SOLUTION: The alkali developer for a photosensitive planographic printing plate contains an amphoteric surfactant and a silicone-base surfactant. In the method for making a planographic printing plate, an IR-sensitive planographic printing plate having an image forming layer containing an IR absorbing dye is exposed with IR and developed with the alkali developer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
