PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating using a precursor of tin-containing indium oxide particles, to provide a transparent electrically conductive film using the coating, and to provide a method for producing the film. SOLUTION: The coating is obtained by dispersing the precursor of tin- containing indium oxide particles in an inorganic binder. The transparent electrically conductive film is obtained by making a coating film by applying the coating on a substrate followed by heat-treating the coating film to convert the precursor into a tin-containing indium oxide having transparent electrical conductivity. Because of undergoing no drying process at all, the precursor is highly dispersible in the binder. Therefore, the coating film with both electrical conductivity and transparency better than those of a coating film using already heat-treated tin-containing indium oxide particles can be obtained.
