The device has two input shafts, an intermediate shaft and a further shaft. One gear wheel is either connected permanently to one input shaft or engages it via a pair of gear wheels. At least one further gear wheel can be connected to a further shaft via a shift element. The revolution rate of one input shaft is converted to slow running if the other is driven and that of the other shaft is converted to fast running if the first is being driven. The device has two input shafts (23,24), an intermediate shaft (21) and a further shaft (50). One gear wheel is either connected permanently to one input shaft or engages it via a pair of gear wheels. At least one further gear wheel can be connected as a loose wheel to a further shaft via a shift element. Gear wheel diameters can be selected so that the revolution rate of one input shaft converted to slow running if the other is being driven and the revolution rate of the other is converted to fast running if the first is being driven.
