Method for person type characterization using a body analysis scale, whereby at least two physiological and or anthropometric values are measured. Thus for example body weight is measured and bio-impedance for the resistance of the body to an electrical signal passed through it. An Independent claim is included for a measurement device with a step-on plate (2) with sensors (3) for measurement of at least one physiological parameter and a load sensor (4) for measuring a person's weight. The sensors are linked to an evaluation unit (10).
