The electric drill has a hammer or rotational mode. It has a function control with a pressure ring (42) arranged in the cylindrical casing (23). The rear face of the ring engages a locking catch. The ring has a pair of adjustable arms extending through radial openings in the casing and movable between front and rear positions. There is a second catch operating in reverse of the arm movement.
