Compositions for inhibiting the adherence and formation of plaque and/or stains on the teeth, said compositions contain two poloxamers selected from a first group of poloxamers having a melting point in the range 48 to 58 degrees C and having a HLB value in the range 22 to 29 and a second group of poloxamers having a melting point in the range 27 to 35 degrees C and having a HLB value in the range 8 to 17; said poloxamers being selected from the same or different groups.
