The invention relates to a reciprocating piston machine, especially an air-conditioning compressor for motor vehicles, comprising a cylinder block, pistons reciprocating inside said cylinder block, and piston shoes that, with a conical end, are guided in a piston sleeve and that, with a planar end, slide on a more or less inclined disc or ring. Said disc or ring is rotationally driven by a shaft and the rotation of the shaft is thereby translated into a reciprocating movement of the pistons.
