<p>The present invention provides a tool changer (80) for removal and installation of tools in a machining center (70) having a spindle (72) for holding a tool (24, 73) including a tool rack (20) having a plurality of locations (21) for holding tools and a rotatable arm (30) movable between the spindle and the plurality of locations. Each of the plurality of locations has a clip (22) for holding a tool and each clip has two arms (23) with the arm (23B) on a first side of the clip having and inclined surface (25). The rotatable arm includes at least two grippers (31, 33) with each gripper defining at least one cam surface (34), the cam surface being structured and arranged to engage the inclined surface of the clip to allow for the removal of a tool in the clip.</p> |
