<p>One or two springs (35, 37, 38) are inserted into the closed loop rope (12) of an elevator safety-actuating governor (11), in order to provide all of the tension in the loop and eliminate the need for a tensioning weight (29). An embodiment utilizing a single spring (35) and two governors (11, 40) provide bidirectional actuation of the safety operating lever (21). A compression spring (42) may push a flange at one of the ropes (46) against a hollow support (44) mounted to the car (23) in an another embodiment.</p> |
