An air conditioning device (2) comprising at least one cooling element (10) in the form of a casing containing a freezable cooling medium, and air convection means (20) for generating an air flow across the at least one cooling element (10), wherein the at least one cooling element (10) is removable from the device (2) for the purpose of freezing the cooling medium therein by external means. The air conditioning device (2) is used to cool an airspace, by providing the device in the airspace, freezing the cooling medium contained in the at least one cooling element (10) by means external to the device (2), installing the at least one frozen cooling element (10) in the device (2), and actuating the air convection means (20) so as to generate an air flow circulating from within the airspace across the at least one frozen cooling element (10). |
