<p>Regular acrylic synthetic fibers which are usable as any of pile fabrics such as a high pile, boa, blanket, mat, and carpet and can impart a bulky feeling to fabrics; a process for producing the fibers; and a synthetic resin for acrylic synthetic fibers which is made mainly from acrylonitrile, characterized by having a thermoplastic ingredient content of 13 to 22 wt.%, a sulfo-containing vinyl monomer content of 0.3 to 2.0 wt.%, and a viscosity-average molecular weight Mη shown by the equation (1) of 43,000 to 60,000.
