<p>A reagent for determining the absolute configuration of a chiral compound containing as the active ingredient a metal porphyrin dimer crosslinked via a carbon chain in which, in at least one of the porphyrin rings of the dimer, at least one of the second carbon atoms (counted from the carbon attached to the crosslinking carbon chain along the outer periphery of the porphyrin ring) has a substituent bulkier than methyl and the central metal is an alkaline earth metal ion; and a method of determining the absolute configuration of a chiral compound with the use of this reagent.</p> |
