A vented floor for an air cooled hold, or storage space, has a load bearing construction of parallel hollow strips joined into a panel and supported over the floor on long ribs. The panel is made of high load bearing GFK plastic and is secured to the ribs with adhesive. The venting holes are provided by tubular inserts set into the panel, with one end widened in a conical shape. The panel is strong enough to support the heavy axle weight of large fork lift trucks without undue increase in weight and with a rot proof construction.
