The standard procedure in the creation of the tip for a cannula is divided into two main steps, resulting in two slightly elevated and sharp areas, frequently causing damage to the tissue of the patient and blocking a tube used in connection with the cannula with the unintentionally removed tissue particles. The new design of a cannula is provided with a flatter tip (4, 5) by grinding off some more material in a third step (10). The insertion angle is more acute, the device slightly rounded at the projecting spots (6, 7). In a second version a concave area is ground into the surface adjacent to the inclined area.
