PURPOSE: An electron gun of a color CRT(Cathode Ray Tube) is provided to be capable of reducing stabilized time by controlling the peak value of initial beam current and restraining the thermal expansion of an electrode after predetermined time using a buried portion of the third electrode having a predetermined slope. CONSTITUTION: An electron gun of a color CRT comprises a cathode for emitting electron beam to a fluorescent screen, the first, second, third, and fourth electrode(4,5,6,7) regularly and sequentially arranged from the cathode, and a bead glass part(16) for supporting the electrodes. A buried portion(6-1) of the third electrode has a predetermined slope. Preferably, the buried portion of the third electrode slopes toward the second electrode. Preferably, the buried portion of the third electrode has a tilt angle of 45 degrees, or less.
