PURPOSE: A PDP(Plasma Display Panel) and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to be capable of improving the discharge efficiency of the PDP by using predetermined magnetic material. CONSTITUTION: A PDP includes a plurality of discharge cells arranged and formed into a matrix type structure at the cross portion of the first electrode(40Y), the second electrode(40Z), and an address electrode. The first and second BM(Black Matrix)(46,50) are installed at the peripheral portion of the discharge cell, wherein the BM is made of magnetic material. Preferably, the first and second BM are magnetized with opposite polarities, respectively. The BM is made of transition elements such as Fe, Ni, Mg, Mn, Co, Sm, and Nd, or compound of the transition elements and rare-earth elements. |
