PURPOSE: An optical pick-up is provided to correctly record and reproduce data in spite of an error in an optical path caused by a minute variation in the position of a laser diode and photo-diode. CONSTITUTION: An optical pick-up that records and reproduces data using a laser beam includes the first and second detectors(50,60). The first detector detects a laser beam that is reflected from an optical disk(45) in order to record/reproduce data. The second detector detects a beam transmitted according to a life edge mode from the reflected beam received by the first detector. The cell size of a photo-diode used for the second detector is larger than the cell size of a photo-diode used for the first detector. |
