PURPOSE: A cooling type muffler is provided to remove noise by cooling the high-temperature and high-pressure gas with air and preventing rapid expansion of the gas. CONSTITUTION: Exhaust gas guided through an exhaust pipe(1) is expanded in an expansion part through an expansion pipe(4). The expanded exhaust gas is cooled by an air circulation pipe(2) and a cooling fin(10) in the expansion part. The cooled exhaust gas flows backward by a resistance panel(3). The exhaust gas is expanded by second and third expansion pipes while being cooled by the air circulation pipe and the cooling fin. The expanded and cooled exhaust gas flows to a discharge pipe(9) by the resistance panel.
