PURPOSE: A digital TV system having a function of restricting watching and hearing broadcast is provided to insert information about beginning and end of display of a specific image into a synchronization period to restrict watching of the image. CONSTITUTION: A digital TV system includes a TV receiver(101) for receiving and demodulating a digital TV signal, a data service decoder(302) for outputting a control signal for controlling generation of a specific kind of image and audio in a specific time zone according to data broadcasting information, a video decoder(301) for decoding video streams, and an OSD controller for generating a specific image according to the control signal. The digital TV system further includes a video children protection controller(401) for checking a children protection grade set by a user and a children protection grade included in a program and modulating a video signal output from the video decoder using the specific image at specific time, an audio decoder for decoding audio streams, and a children protection audio generator for generating a specific sound according to the control signal. The digital TV system also has an audio children protection controller(402) for modulating an audio signal output from the audio decoder using the specific sound at specific time. |
