PURPOSE: A piston and a method for deciding a rotation preventing structure are provided to achieve improved performance of compressor by reducing a compressor start torque, while reducing the size and weight of the piston. CONSTITUTION: A piston(400) comprises a piston head unit(410); a bridge unit(420) extended in a rearward direction from the rear surface of the piston head unit; a flange(430) which forms a swash plate insertion space(450) by being bent downward from the bridge unit; and a pair of wings protruded in a circumferential direction from the rear end of the bridge unit. The wings are protruded in such a manner that the outer surfaces of the wings have curvatures smaller than the inner diameter of the front housing of the compressor. A stopper is protruded at a predetermined curvature from the outer surfaces of the wings in such a manner that the stopper line contacts the inner surface of the front housing and prevents a rotation of the piston.
