The invention relates to a method of forming a panel built up of stones. The stones are glued together in a desired bond, and a surface of the panel being formed is mechanically worked. The stones are glued together by means of an epoxy resin glue or the like. If desired, the glue can be applied in such a manner that the glue is receded in the joint with respect to the surface in at least one surface of the panel being formed.
