Suppression of noise in CDP seismic data by muting noisy data traces

Seismic data is stacked after a normal move out correction has been applied. The stacked data is used to define a pilot trace. Each CDP trace is compared to the pilot trace and traces which do not meet waveform shape and/or numerical criteria are muted. The unmuted traces are the restacked to produce a noise filtered seismic data trace.
