<p>PURPOSE: A method for preparing a green fluorescent substance for PDP (plasma display panel) is provided, in order to reduce reaction time and decay time without deterioration of the luminescence intensity compared with an already-known green fluorescent substance for PDP by increasing the concentration of Mn-Mn pairs on the surface of a fluorescent substance. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of mixing ZnO and SiO2 and heating the mixture to prepare Zn2SiO4 matrix; and mixing the obtained Zn2SiO4 with MnO and heating the mixture to prepare Zn(2-a)MnaSiO4, wherein 0<z<=0.1, and 0<a<=0.1. Preferably the molar ratio of ZnO to SiO2 is 1.5-1.9 : 1 and the heating time depends on the composition ratio of SiO2 and ZnO in the first step. Preferably the heating is carried out at a temperature of 1,250-1,350 deg.C in the two steps.</p> |
