METHOD OF PRODUCING STUFFERBOX CRIMPED FINE TOW FROM SYNTHETIC FILAMENTS AS WELL AS ITS FURTHER PROCESSING INTO TEXTILE HYGIENE ARTICLES

Low, partially or fully oriented filament yarn on bobbins is drawn from a creel (1), treated with a finish (2) and drawn on hot rolls (3, 4). It is then heated (5) and crimped in a stuffer box (6). The processing speed is 200 to 1000 m/min, preferably 300 to 500 m/min, and the resultant crimped tow is 2 to 9 ktex, preferably 3 to 8 ktex. An Independent claim is also included for the application of crimped tows of this kind for the manufacture of hygiene articles.
