<p>The apparatus, comprising a vessel (1) fed with spent nuclear fuel powder, contains a rotary agitator (3) and an anti-lift component (11) with fixed vanes, to prevent the powder rising under the rotary effect of the agitator. The vanes have a downward slope, so that they push the rising powder back towards the base of the vessel. Preferred Features: The blades of the anti-lift component can be semi-circular in shape and set in an overlapping pattern along the agitator shaft (2), or they can be in the form of a single inverted cone.</p> |
