The ship's capstan arrangement has a box-form foundation module to accommodate the capstan on its upper side, whilst its inner space houses a drive and gear. The foundation module is integrated in a recess in the deck structure (2) inside a dead space of the ship's construction and supported by the bearing frame (12) of a beam (14) in the deck structure, and at least in one axial direction hollow profiles (17) are formed by connected sidewalls (13) of the foundation module and beam.
