Dichloroimides intermediates for biurets with plant protection properties Cpds. Cl-CO-NR-COCl are prepd by reaction of R-NCO (where R is lower alkyl pref. 3-6C and contg. a double bond) with COCl2 at elevated pressure pref. at 120-250 degrees C. Prep is pref. performed in presence of 0.1-10% active C. Advantage of new process over chlorination of S heterocyclic cpds. is that cpds may be prepared where R is unsaturated.
